When Does a Motorcycle Need an MOT?
Most motorcycles require their first MOT once they reach three years old, followed by another test every year.
You can check the expiry date on your current MOT certificate or online using the Government’s MOT history service. It is worth checking in advance rather than leaving it until the last minute, particularly if your bike has spent several months off the road.
You can usually have an MOT carried out up to one month, minus one day, before your existing certificate expires while retaining the same renewal date.
What Do Motorcycle MOT Testers Look For?
A motorcycle MOT covers a range of components that are important to the safety and roadworthiness of your bike.
